These workers, who are so often overlooked, work for pennies in inhuman conditions for 16 hours a day, in countries where “minimum wage” is unheard of. Fair Trade eliminates these negative practices ensuring products are produced sweat shop free, with no child labour, and ensures ethical treatment of workers including living wages for the hours they work in a day.
